Alcatel Lucent Outlook To Negative On Weak Trading; 'BB-/B' Ratings Affirmed Jul 08

Abstract PARIS (Standard & Poor's) July 31, 2008--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that it revised to negative from stable its outlook on France-based telecommunications equipment supplier Alcatel Lucent. At the same time, the 'BB-/B' long- and short-term corporate credit ratings on Alcatel Lucent, the 'BB-/B-1' long- and short-term corporate credit ratings on subsidiary Lucent Technologies Inc., and all issue ratings on both companies were affirmed. At June 30, 2008, Alcatel Lucent had on-balance-sheet gross debt of -5.5 billion, including the equity component of convertible bonds.
