Abstract
French telecom equipment supplier Alcatel-Lucent is proposing -500 million of senior bonds to help refinance its January 2011 maturities. We are assigning a 'B' rating to the proposed notes, with a recovery rating of '4', in line with Alcatel-Lucent's existing senior unsecured bonds. We are affirming our ratings on Alcatel-Lucent, including the 'B' long-term corporate credit rating. The negative outlook continues to reflect a possible downgrade if Alcatel-Lucent's cash generation does not materially improve in the near term.
