Abstract
Record sales of integrated devices, including smartphones, in the third quarter helped boost revenues at AT&T Inc., which said Thursday that it added 2.6 million wireless subscribers for a total of 92.8 million during this period. On a net income basis, AT&T reported earnings of $12.3 billion, or $2.08 per share, compared with $3.2 billion, or $0.54 per share, a year ago. Excluding one-time gains, AT&T would have earned $0.55, in line with the Capital IQ consensus estimate and $0.02 better than the year-ago period. Revenues of $31.6 billion matched analysts' expectations. Standard & Poor's Equity Research reiterated its strong buy recommendation on AT&T following the release of the quarterly figures.
