Abstract Standard & Poor's Ratings Services raised its standard long-term rating and Standard & Poor's underlying rating (SPUR) on Bryan, Texas' general obligation (GO) debt one notch to 'AA' from 'AA-' based on the city's continued economic base expansion, coupled with management's commitment to maintaining reserves above its target due to conservative budgeting practices. The outlook is stable. At the same time, Standard & Poor's assigned its 'AA' standard long-term rating, and stable outlook, to the city's series 2008 combination tax and surplus utility system revenue certificates of obligation.
