Abstract
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services affirmed its 'A-' long-term rating and underlying rating (SPUR) on the Illinois Health Facilities Authority's series 2004 bonds issued for SwedishAmerican Hospital (SAH). The outlook on both ratings is stable. The rating affirmation reflects our view of SAH's favorable utilization, improved year-to-date operational performance, and increasing liquidity. The 'A-' ratings further reflect our view of SAH's: Good business position in Winnebago and Boone counties, with a leading and growing market share; Favorable utilization growth in fiscal 2010 and fiscal 2011 to date; Healthy operating levels generating solid maximum annual debt service coverage; and Improved liquidity metrics that provide sufficient balance sheet flexibility for the rating level.
