Bulletin: Italian Utilities A2A, Acea, Hera, And AQP Not Immediately Affected By The Outcome Of Two Water Referendums Jun 11

Abstract MILAN (Standard & Poor's) June 14, 2011--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that its ratings on Italy-based utilities A2A SpA (BBB+/Negative/A-2), Acea SpA (A/Negative/A-1), Hera SpA (BBB+/Stable/A-2) and Acquedotto Pugliese SpA (AQP; BB+/Positive/B-1) are not immediately affected by the outcome of last weekend's referendums in Italy. The public consultation included two ballots regarding, firstly, the mandatory opening of public service companies to private capital and, secondly, the inclusion in water tariffs of a legal return on invested capital. Standard & Poor's will closely monitor the evolution of regulation in the water sector in Italy and evaluate its impact on the respective business risk profiles of these four rated Italian utilities.
