Abstract
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AA-' long-term rating and stable outlook to Isle of Wight County, Va.'s series 2011A general obligation (GO) public improvement and refunding bonds and series 2011C literary loan anticipation notes and its 'SP-1+' short-term rating to the county's series 2011B GO utility bond anticipation notes (BANs). At the same time, Standard & Poor's affirmed its 'AA-' long-term rating and underlying rating (SPUR), with a stable outlook, on the county's existing GO debt. The rating reflects our opinion of the county's: Largely rural, primarily residential area that benefits from its location and participation in the greater and diverse Hampton Roads regional economy; Consistent property tax base growth, which will experience pressure in the near future...
