Bulletin: Power Outage Investigation Does Not Affect DTE Energy Co. And CMS Energy Co. Ratings Jun 08

Abstract NEW YORK (Standard & Poor's) June 20, 2008--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services today stated that the Michigan Public Service Commission's order to investigate recent power outages will not affect the ratings of CMS Energy Corp. (BBB-/Stable/A-3) and DTE Energy Co. (BBB/Stable/A-2) at this time. Several storms occurring over the last two weeks created various power outages that collectively left about 720,000 customers without power. The staff will investigate the causes of the disruptions, evaluate how the utilities responded, and cite changes that could reduce the chances of future outages by August 22. We will review the outcome to determine whether any punitive actions by the commission cause deterioration to either company's credit....
