The 'AAA' long-term ratings on Network Rail Infrastructure Finance PLC's (NRIF) -20 billion debt program and Network Rail MTN Finance PLC's (NRMF's) -10 billion debt program, and the 'A-1+' short-term rating on NRIF's -4 billion CP program, are based on credit support from the U.K. Secretary of State for Transport (SoS) and, ultimately, from the government of the United Kingdom (AAA/Stable/A-1+). NRIF's programs are supported by a financial indemnity provided by the SoS. The NRMF program is supported by a -10 billion standby term-loan facility provided by the SoS.
