Abstract
In conjunction with Kindred Healthcare Inc.'s acquisition of RehabCare Group Inc. and announced unsecured notes, Standard & Poor's Ratings Services is finalizing its recovery and issue-level debt ratings on the Louisville Ky.-based post-acute care services provider. Our simulated default scenario contemplates a default in 2014, because of declines in reimbursement rates. As a service business, we believe the company would reorganize in the event of a default, because of the strength of its reputation and its ability to deliver high-quality services to its customers. Kindred Healthcare Inc. is the issuer of the senior secured and unsecured indebtedness. The senior secured indebtedness is guaranteed by each wholly-owned domestic subsidiary of the borrower, excluding Cornerstone, the borrower's wholly-owned insurance subsidiary. Asset-based loan...
