Abstract
NEW YORK (Standard & Poor's CreditWire) Jan. 30, 2001--Standard & Poor's has assigned its single-'B' rating to Six Flags Inc.'s privately placed, Rule 144A $300 million senior notes due 2009. The outstanding ratings on Six Flags and its units are affirmed (see list below). Proceeds from the issue are expected to be used to refinance tendered 9 3/4% senior notes due 2007 and bank debt. The ratings reflect Six Flags's position as a major regional theme park operator, offset by an aggressive growth strategy. Ratings also consider the company's increasing geographic and cash flow diversity, improving operating performance, and Standard & Poor's expectation that interest coverage will rise in 2001 despite management's active acquisition orientation.
