Research Update: Ratings On Thailand's Total Access Communication Public Co. Ltd. Affirmed; Outlook Stable Jun 07

Abstract On June 8, 2007, Standard & Poor's Ratings Services affirmed its 'BB+' corporate credit rating on Thailand's second-largest cellular provider, Total Access Communication Public Co. Ltd. (DTAC). The outlook is stable. The rating on DTAC reflects the following risks: Highly competitive environment. Competition in the Thai cellular market remains intense and operators are experiencing slowing revenue growth as wireless penetration rate has reached about 69%. Private operators agreed to be subject to the interconnection regime in November 2006 and billing started in the first quarter of 2007. This move has slowed down the irrational pricing competition as players introduce on-net pricing packages.
