TOKYO (Standard & Poor's) Jan. 17, 2002--Standard & Poor's today raised its long- and short-term counterparty ratings on Korea's Kookmin Bank to triple-'B'-minus and 'A-3' from double-'B'-plus and single-'B', respectively. The outlook on the long-term rating is positive. Standard & Poor's also raised its long-term counterparty rating on Korea Exchange Bank to double-'B'-minus from single-'B'-plus and affirmed its single-'B' short-term rating on the bank.
