The 2006-2015 Outlook for the Construction Machinery Market in the CIS

Production of construction equipment in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) totaled 17.5 thousand units in 2010. In 2011-2015 production will be increasing by 18.7-6.4% annually. By 2015 it will have reached 28.6 thousand units. The growth of production is backed by the high level of deterioration, low degree of completeness of construction companies and lower price compared to the imported products.
According to the estimates of BusinesStat, in 2010 sales of construction equipment in the CIS amounted to 84.4 thousand units, having increased by 37.6 thousand units compared to 2009. In 2011-2015 sales will be increasing on average by 15.2% annually following the growth of demand. The construction equipment market of the CIS is subject to import. The countries of the region import much more construction equipment than export it.
The greatest volume of sales of construction equipment falls on Russia, whose share in the total sales in the CIS varied from 35.1% to 66.4% between 2006 and 2010.
