China Concrete Pump Truck Industry Report, 2010-2011

Concrete pump truck is a kind of machinery to continuously transport concrete along the pipeline by means of pressure, mainly applying in the placement of concrete structures of buildings, plants and construction sites. With the prosperity of real estate, infrastructure and commercial concrete industries, the demand for concrete pump trucks is increasing. In 2010, China's output of concrete pump truck surged to 10,956, up 99.2% over 2009.
In China, domestically-made concrete pump trucks occupy overwhelming majority, with major manufacturers including SANY, Zoomlion, XCMG and HOLD. Comparing to the imported brands, domestic ones exceed in convenient maintenance and reliable after-sale services, gaining more acceptance from consumers. However, the key parts of concrete pump trucks made in China are introduced from foreign countries. For example, chassis are imported from ISUZU, Mercedes-Benz, main oil pumps largely from REXROTH and Kawasaki while hydraulic valves mainly from VICKERS or REXROTH.

SANY boasts China's largest concrete pump truck manufacturer, with the output in 2010 totaling 5,318, an increase of 2,551 over 2009. The concrete pump trucks made by SANY mainly adopt chassis from ISUZU and Dongfeng Automobile, and the product specifications are quite complete, ranging from 25 m to 66 m.
In March 2011, SANY donated a 62m concrete pump truck worth USD 1 million to Tokyo Electric Power for pumping water into the damaged reactor units at Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant. Afterwards, Tokyo Electric Power announced to purchase 30 sets of 56m concreted pump trucks from SANY.
Zoomlion is the runner-up in the concrete pump truck market of China, with the output in 2010 increased by 2,175 to 4,079. The chassis of concrete pump trucks made by Zoomlion are mainly from ISUZU, Mercedes-Benz and Dongfeng Automobile. The company manufactures concrete pump trucks with the length of boom from 22 m to 62 m, largely applying in the construction of railway bridges. In 2008, Zoomlion successfully acquired CIFA, a global leading concrete machinery manufacturer in Italy.
