Slovenia - Mobile Market Insights, Statistics and Forecasts
Paul Budde Communication Pty Ltd, April 2012, Pages: 16
Slovenia’s mobile market is potentially one of the most competitive given that four mobile network operators and a number of mobile virtual network operators operate in a country with a potential market of only two million people. With mobile SIM card penetration at saturation levels, established mobile network operators have shifted focus to defending market share from new market entrants and increasing Average revenue per user levels; encouraging prepaid users to take up postpaid services as well as encouraging spending and uptake in the underdeveloped mobile broadband and content market. 3G/HSPA networks have been deployed to support the delivery of mobile broadband services, while competing network deployments have led to increased transfer speeds. This report offers insights and statistics on the Slovenian mobile market, including updates on operators and regulatory measures.
Key developments:Mobitel merges with parent company; mobile broadband accounting for over a third of mobile subscribers; Si.Mobil expands HSPA+ upgrade to 90% of the population; Mobitel trials LTE; regulator’s 2010 market report and 2011 updates; operator data to end-2011; market developments into 2012.
