Managing Identities and Access: Intelligence and Automation for Higher Scale at Lower Cost
Aberdeen Group, March 2011, Pages: 25
Identity and access management solutions are being transformed from the decade-old perception of IAM as a tool for IT, to a new role as an important business enabler. Aberdeen's research indicates a discernable shift away from self-integration of point solutions for IAM, in favor of a vendor-integrated approach. As a greater proportion of IAM capabilities are able to be achieved by configuration (i.e., out-of-the-box) rather than by customization (e.g., custom coding and services), a key barrier to widespread deployment of IAM will continue to decrease.
Aberdeen's research shows that the leading performers in managing identities and access already realize significant advantages over laggards: increased end-user productivity, reduced risk, increased agility, enhanced security and compliance, and reduced total cost. Easier integration and enhanced intelligence in commercial IAM solutions should accelerate this trend.
Key report benefits:
- Cut Vulnerability from Orphaned Accounts - Integrate New Users Faster - Support More Users for Less Money
