Getting engaged: Wedding-related activity will rebound as postponed nuptials are planned
Wedding Services in the US
Tying loose ends
During the past five years, many economic and consumer trends acted against the Wedding Services industry. High unemployment reduced budgets for weddings and also postponed nuptials as individuals returned to school. In addition, longer engagements, cohabitation before marriage and a higher average marriage age all became more acceptable, pushing the marriage rate down. Although some of these trends will linger, nuptials that were postponed will finally be planned and consumer spending on weddings will grow.
This industry is composed of day-of wedding service providers, apparel retailers and venues. Wedding coordinators are included because they have many responsibilities on the day of the event. However, the industry excludes pre-wedding and honeymoon spending.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
