Managing Virtualized Applications: Optimizing Dynamic Infrastructures
Aberdeen Group, April 2011, Pages: 10
In January 2011, Aberdeen conducted a survey on the deployment of server virtualization, exploring the challenges faced, strategies employed, and ultimately the tangible business and operational benefits organizations have achieved. Representatives from a diverse group of 85 organizations responded.
Organizations with the best performing virtualization programs reported, on average:
- Deploying new applications almost 3 times faster, 1.3 weeks for the leaders vs. 3.0 weeks for the laggards - Having virtualized about 60% of their applications, and - Reducing application downtime since deploying server virtualization 38% versus only 5% for those organizations with lower performing virtualization programs.
In addition, companies with higher performing virtualization programs reported using management software that dynamically optimizes their virtualized environment twice as often as the lesser performing organizations.
Key benefits of this report:
- Fast Application Deployment - Use Dynamic Software - Automate the Management
