Following the launch of Apple iPad, tablet PCs have become all the rage in the market. Samsung and Viewsonic rolled out their own tablet products in the fourth quarter of 2010, and various mobile phone and PC brands also began to introduce related products in 2011. In order to increase the competitiveness of their products against iPad, many branded vendors have sourced the production to Taiwanese PC manufacturers so as to reduce the production cost. In light of the rise of Taiwanese tablet PC industry, this report will analyze its shipment performance in the first quarter of 2011.
