China's Heavy Duty Truck Industry

In the past decade, China's heavy duty truck industry (HDMAT) has maintained a very fast pace in its development. By 2010 the sales volume of heavy duty trucks had surpassed one million, which has made China the largest HDMAT market in the world.
The first part of this report gives a general overview of China's HDMAT industry, defining the industry and tracking its development. The second part analyses the domestic HDMAT market from three different levels:
1. The market for commercial vehicles: A detailed introduction is given which discusses the market share of different types of commercial vehicles;
2. China's heavy duty truck market as a whole is examined: A detailed introduction is given from the perspective of annual sales volume and growth rate (2001-June 2011). Reasons behind this wave of growth are examined;
3. Analysis is provided in terms of the sales volume, growth and market share of all brands of heavy-duty truck (2006-2010).
The third part focuses on the top nine domestic heavy duty truck manufacturers in terms of the sales volume, growth rate, market share and change in shares from 2006 to 2010 and summarizes the major brands and vehicle types of each manufacturer on the current market.
The last part of the report examines the general developing trends of the domestic HDMAT industry and analyses its technical capability, industry policy and consumer habits.
