A large volume of data has been collected in the consumption chapter, which assesses the demand for glass fiber products for all end-uses and by all major types of products - insulation materials, glass wallpaper, glass fiber cloth and glass fiber nets.
In Chapter 4, the authors of the study provide a quantitative characteristic of the market capacity for the next stage of the production chain after the glass fiber industry - glass fiber-reinforced plastics (GPR). A detailed description is given to the production and market of press materials, GRP and GRP pipes.
The final part of the report provides a forecast of development of production of continuous glass fiber and its products in the medium term - up to 2015.
The main and primary source materials for the research were data from companies and the results of telephone interviews with their representatives. They allowed the authors to estimate production and the market situation, both in the industry as a whole and at each enterprise, to make adjustments to the data from the Federal Service of State Statistics (FSSS) of Russia, which does not accurately and correctly reflect the situation in the industry. Trade relations were analyzed based on data from the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of Russia. Considerable assistance was produced by submissions from regional mass-media.
