Abstract
Standard & Poor's has revised its methodology and assumptions for rating sovereign governments. Consequently, we are raising the foreign currency long-term sovereign credit rating on Fiji to 'B' from 'B-' and the short-term rating to 'B' from 'C'. Correspondingly, we are raising the T&C assessment on Fiji to 'B' from 'B-'. We are also affirming the local currency long-term sovereign rating on Fiji at 'B' and raising the local currency short-term rating to 'B' from 'C'. On Aug. 5, 2011, Standard & Poor's Ratings Services raised its foreign currency long-term sovereign rating on Fiji to 'B' from 'B-'.
