Abstract
The ratings on Dexia Hypothekenbank Berlin AG's (Dexia Hyp) public sector (Öffentliche) Pfandbriefe continue to reflect the quality of collateral and the cash flow adequacy of the bank's public sector Pfandbriefe, coupled with protections afforded by German insolvency and banking laws. Dexia Hyp maintains a segregated, revolving pool of high-quality public sector assets, on which the Öffentliche Pfandbriefe have a preferential claim. Standard & Poor's has not assigned counterparty credit ratings to Dexia Hyp or ratings to Hypotheken (mortgage) Pfandbriefe issued by Dexia Hyp. With total assets of ?31.6 billion at June 30, 2003, Dexia Hyp is a midsize mortgage bank.
