AXA's Main Insurance Operating Entities in U.K. and Germany Rated 'AA'; Outlook Stable Dec 00

Abstract PARIS (Standard & Poor's CreditWire) Dec. 21, 2000--Standard & Poor's today assigned first ratings to the main insurance operating entities in the U.K. and Germany of Paris-based AXA Group (AXA); double-'A' long-term counterparty credit and insurer financial strength ratings were assigned. The companies are: AXA Sun Life PLC, AXA Equity & Law Life Assurance Society, AXA General Insurance Ltd, AXA Direct Insurance Ltd, AXA Colonia Versicherung AG, AXA Colonia Lebensversicherung AG, and AXA Colonia Krankenversicherung AG. The ratings are based on the entities' core status within the AXA group. The outlook on all the companies is stable.
