Abstract
On Feb. 19, 2004, following a review, Standard & Poor's Ratings Services affirmed its 'A' long-term and 'A-1' short-term counterparty credit ratings and 'A' senior unsecured debt rating on AXA, the ultimate holding company of Paris-based global insurance and asset management group AXA. At the same time, Standard & Poor's affirmed its 'AA-' long-term counterparty credit and insurer financial strength ratings on the core insurance companies of the group. The outlook is stable. The ratings on the AXA group's core insurance companies reflect the group's extremely strong business position, strong and improving earnings, and very strong capitalization.
