4 issues per year. The official journal of the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine (SOM), the British Institute of Musculoskeletal Medicine (BIMM), the International Academy for Manual/Musculoskeletal Medicine (IAMMM) and De Nederlandse Vereniging van artsen voor OrthoManuele Geneeskunde (NVOMG), International Musculoskeletal Medicine welcomes research and review papers about pain and dysfunction in the musculoskeletal system. It wishes to encourage better treatment by improving the evidence base for best practice. And to promote better understanding of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction, it publishes papers dealing with its causation and the mechanisms underlying chronicity as well as the mechanisms for obtaining satisfactory relief. The editors also encourage submission of Case Reports, Discussion Papers and Hypotheses.

International Musculoskeletal Medicine is therefore of interest to all who are interested in the scientific basis for the best and most cost effective non-surgical relief of musculoskeletal pain, especially by manual, exercise and injection therapies whether from the medical, physiotherapy, osteopathic or chiropractic professions.

A survey of recent issues showed that authorship is two thirds medical and one third physiotherapist; papers cover spinal and limb problems as well as general topics, involving manipulation, exercise and injection therapy. Featured authors have resided from the UK, Scandinavia, The Netherlands, Czech Republic, Japan, Russia and France.
