Standard & Poor's Ratings Services affirmed its 'A-' underlying rating (SPUR) on Exeter Union High School District, Calif.'s series 2001 GO bonds. The rating reflects: A predominantly agricultural-based local economy with low wealth and income indicators; Slightly growing enrollments; Good unreserved fund balances; and Low debt levels with minimal capital needs. The GO bonds are secured by the district's authority to levy unlimited ad valorem taxes to repay debt service. The high school district, with a population of about 15,000, is located in Tulare County and encompasses portions of the cities of Exeter and Lemon Cove.
