Abstract
BOSTON (Standard & Poor's) Feb. 15, 2008--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services raised its long-term rating on Boston University, Mass.' debt to 'A-' from 'BBB+', reflecting the university's continued strong student demand, large increase in its endowment, and impressive operating performance over the last few years. The outlook is stable. "The upgrade also reflects the significant improvement in Boston University's governance and stability in leadership, which should bode well for the university as it begins a significant capital campaign," said Standard & Poor's credit analyst Marc Savaria. "We expect that the university will continue to generate operating surpluses, have a successful capital campaign, and maintain its strong demand."
