Research Update: Viant Holdings Inc. 'B' Rating Kept On CreditWatch Positive As Acquisition Awaits Regulatory Approval Feb 10

Abstract
Regulatory approval for MultiPlan's acquisition of Viant, a competitor in the U.S. health care cost-management industry, is pending as of Feb. 18, 2010. As a result, we are keeping our 'B' counterparty credit rating on Viant on CreditWatch positive. The ratings on MultiPlan (B+/Stable/--) remain unaffected. On Feb. 18, 2010, Standard & Poor's Ratings Services kept its 'B' counterparty credit rating on Viant Holdings Inc. (Viant) on CreditWatch, where it was placed on Aug. 5, 2009, with positive implications. We believe that MultiPlan and Viant still intend to consummate their merger and that a regulatory decision could be reached by the end of first-quarter 2010.
