Bulletin: Compass Minerals International Inc. Rating And Outlook Unchanged By Reported Storm Damage At Its Ontario Mine Facilities Aug 11

Abstract NEW YORK (Standard & Poor's) Aug. 24, 2011--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that its 'BB+' rating and stable rating outlook on Compass Minerals International Inc. remain unchanged at this time following reported storm damage at the company's salt mine and salt mechanical evaporation plant facilities in Goderich, Ontario. Compass Minerals announced that while there was no damage to underground operations at the mine, the evaporated salt plant and surface buildings at the mine site sustained significant structural damage that will suspend operations at these facilities until repairs are made. Assessments to determine the extent of the damage are still underway, and it is uncertain when the facilities will restart operations. Although repair and operating disruption costs could hurt...
