PARIS (Standard & Poor's) Feb. 25, 2008-The French structured finance market is likely to be less affected than other European jurisdictions by the global slowdown in 2008, according to a report published recently by Standard & Poor's Ratings Services. "The French securitization market has never been easily comparable with other European countries," explained credit analyst Nicolas Malaterre. "Its typically diverse range of asset classes, the low issuance volume, and few repeat issuers have marked it apart." He noted that this may prove to be a benefit throughout 2008 as the slowdown seen in the structured finance markets since the second half of 2007 is likely to be more limited in the French market than other European jurisdictions.
