Abstract
LONDON (Standard & Poor's) April 4, 2006--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that its ratings and outlook on U.K.-based water and environmental services company Severn Trent PLC (A/Stable/A-1), and related entities, are unaffected following the group's announced intention to demerge its waste management business, Biffa PLC, by the end of 2006. We expect further details of the proposed demerger and overall group strategy to emerge in early June 2006, when Severn Trent will announce its interim annual results. This will be key to our review of the ratings, particularly with regard to any announcements on future financial strategy and capital structure.
