BULLETIN: Smoking Ban Vote Will Not Affect Ratings In Pub Securitizations Feb 06

Abstract LONDON (Standard & Poor's) Feb. 15, 2006-Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that it had anticipated the outcome of yesterday's vote on smoking in public houses (pubs) in its rating stresses. As a result, no rating action is likely in any pub securitization. Yesterday, the U.K. Government gave Members of Parliament a free vote in the debate on whether to impose a total or partial ban on smoking in enclosed public areas in England and Wales. A total ban is due to come into effect in Scotland from next month, and Northern Ireland has already voted to introduce a total ban next year.
