'A-2' Ratings on Erste Bank der oesterreichischen Sparkassen AG Affirmed; Off Watch Neg Feb 01

Abstract LONDON (Standard & Poor's CreditWire) Feb. 12, 2001--Standard & Poor's today affirmed its 'A-2' short-term credit ratings on Erste Bank der oesterreichischen Sparkassen AG (Erste Bank) and removed them from CreditWatch with negative implications, where they were placed on Dec. 22, 2000. At the same time, Standard & Poor's raised its rating on Slovenska Sporitelna a.s. (SLSP), the largest bank in the Slovak Republic, to double-'Bpi' from single-'Bpi'. Standard & Poor's also affirmed the double-'B' long-term and single-'B' short-term counterparty credit ratings and certificate of deposit ratings on Ceska Sporitelna a.s....
