The retail industry as itís evolving stands at a cross section where global technology and business transformations intersect. Internet Commerce is of course a major factor, but it's far from the whole story. Retail organizations depend on IT applications to promote and inform just as much as they do to directly generate sales.
'Virtual stores' typically support brick-and-mortar operations all of which depend on applications to support locating, ordering and informing buyers on opportunities, as well as showcasing and evaluating options.
