Citrix Teams on Open AppFlow Standard: NetScaler to Provide Flow-based Metrics

Citrix Systems, along with partners SolarWinds, Splunk, and CA Technologies, recently announced AppFlow, a new industry standard for capture and exchange of information within application and transaction message flows. Citrix NetScaler will act as a collector/provider of information to enterprise management products, based on its positioning between the data center and the user. Citrix Branch Repeater will support AppFlow in the future. The standard will be initially supported by a new 'AppFlow community' with active participation from customers, vendors, and industry experts.
EMA sees this announcement as an innovation to be noticed. This technology will deliver multiple new sources of application and business performance data via technology that already exists in thousands of data centers worldwide. In conjunction with NetScaler VPX, it can also provide a new level of visibility to applications running on the public cloud.
