Riverbed Expands Application Performance Portfolio with Load Balancing Acquisition

On July 19, 2011, Riverbed Technology (Riverbed) made two announcements. First, Riverbed announced its intent to acquire Zeus Technology, a privately-owned UK-based provider of software-based load balancing and traffic management solutions. Second, Riverbed announced a smaller acquisition of Aptimize Limited, a New Zealand-based company that specializes in Web site content acceleration. The acquisition of the two companies will form the cornerstone of Riverbed's asymmetric application performance optimization strategy.
