Three Stages of Cloud Maturity: A Saugatuck Management Framework for ISVs

Saugatuck’s continuing research with independent software vendors (ISVs) indicates that most are investing in one or more forms of Cloud/SaaS offering development or refinement. Of course, not all are in the same stages of Cloud maturity, or are working at the same pace. This Strategic Perspective summarizes Saugatuck’s three-stage “Cloud maturity” model for ISVs, identifying defining characteristics of each stage, and what ISVs can expect to encounter. We also look at how ISVs will need to manage multiple stages simultaneously as their different offerings – and related markets, customers and partner systems – progress toward Cloud at different speeds
