Vietnam's Tourism Update
FineIntel, Aug 2011, Pages: 7
The report provides an overview of the Vietnam’s tourism industry, covering its structure, its size, its value, and its growth. Accordingly, the industry earned VND62 trillion (approximately US$3 billion) from providing services for almost 2.97 million international visitors and 17.5 million local holidaymakers in the first half of 2011. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the two economic centers, have been named among top ten Asian cities for 2011 by the US Travel and Leisure magazine. Some incentives to boost the local tourism have been made. Some major tourism projects are expected to be approved in the time to come. Vietnam targets to attract 5.5 million international visitors in 2011, increasing by 10 percent year-on-year.
