Vietnam's Automotive Update

In Q1 2011, Vietnam experienced increasing imports of complete built units (CBUs) as well as care parts and components, totally different from previous forecast. Accordingly, 14,800 CBUs worth US$262 million was imported, an increase of 54.8 percent and 62.2 percent, respectively, compared with the same period of 2010. There has been a major change in the supply side. South Korea retained first position, followed by Japan, Thailand, China, and Indonesia.
