BULLETIN: Unocal Moves to Strengthen Lower 48 States U.S. Division Jun 03

Abstract NEW YORK (Standard & Poor's) June 6, 2003--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that Unocal Corp.'s (BBB+/Stable/A-2) proposed initiatives to improve its Lower 48 U.S. division would not have an immediate affect its ratings or outlook. Standard & Poor's has been anticipating that Unocal would exploit the current pricing upcycle by applying free cash flow to debt reduction. Furthermore, an improvement in the management of its Lower 48 division has been expected since Unocal acquired the outstanding minority interests in Pure Resources....
