Standard & Poor's Rating Services assigned its 'AA-' long-term rating to St. Louis County School District (Maplewood-Richmond Heights), Mo.'s general obligation (GO) bonds. At the same time, Standard & Poor's affirmed its 'AA-' long-term and underlying rating (SPUR) on the district's outstanding debt. The outlook on all ratings is stable. The 'AA-' rating reflects our opinion of the district's: Participation in the St. Louis, Mo., metropolitan statistical area (MSA) regional economy; Good income levels, coupled with very strong wealth level measured on a per capita basis; Strong financial reserves on a cash basis of accounting; and Moderate overall net debt burden with limited future capital needs.
