Standard & Poor's Rating Services assigned its 'AA-' long-term rating to St. Louis County School District (Maplewood-Richmond Heights), Mo.'s general obligation (GO) bonds. At the same time, Standard & Poor's affirmed its 'AA-' long-term and underlying rating (SPUR) on the district's previously issued debt. The outlook is stable. The 'AA-' rating reflects our opinion of the district's: Participation in the St. Louis, Mo. metropolitan statistical area (MSA) regional economy; Good growth in assessed value (AV); Improved financial position, including maintenance of strong reserves; and Moderate overall net debt burden with limited future capital needs.
