Abstract The narrowing of the market's attention on a top few growth stocks has been accompanied by a broadening of the scope of the term 'value investing'. Through Standard & Poor's interviews with more than 60 managers in this style category, it became apparent there are three types of value investors - the distinctions may not be black and white, but there are clear differences in philosophy which have translated into differences in returns.
