BULLETIN: WPP Group PLC Bids for Remainder of Tempus Group Aug 01

Abstract
Standard & Poor's today said that WPP Group PLC's (A-/Stable/--) all-cash offer for Tempus Group PLC would not affect WPP's current ratings and outlook. WPP today bid -345 million to acquire the 78% of Tempus Group PLC that it does not already own. However, Standard & Poor's will continue to monitor the financial and operational effect of the proposed transaction. A competitive bidding situation might develop, as Tempus previously received a rival bid from Havas Advertising....
