Road traffic injury is one of the major public health problems in both developed and developing countries. It accounts for a large proportion of disability and potential years of life lost especially among the most economically productive segment of the population.The number of deaths and injuries due to road traffic accidents were estimated by capture-recapture methods and burden of mortality due to road traffic accidents was calculated by YPLL. In addition, the distribution and characteristics of fatal and non-fatal injury patients based on police reports and hospital records were described and the extent of difference between police reports and hospital records also be showed more details. The risk factors of fatal injury associated with motor vehicle accidents in this book should help epidemiologist and policy makers to understand more about this problem.
