Australian Poems: 1978-2010 is an Australian masterpiece. The 350 poems of the anthology are divided into two aliquot parts, grouped into six thematic sections: Animal, Mineral, Vegetable, and Scissors, Paper, Rock. The first part describes Australian wildlife and Australia's diverse landscape. The metre captures a uniquely Australian vision, which sports with and delights the reader as it imaginatively depicts Australia's powerful natural beauty. The second part is a suite of poems that traverses love, sorrow and the existential dilemma. At the heart of these poems is the dialectic of philosophy, a continuum that acknowledges the work of earlier Australian, European and Indian poets.
