This study advances our understanding of
international new ventures by investigating the
entire start-up, growth and management process of
such ventures. By looking at the process from an
initial idea to the development and management of an
international new venture, the study also develops
existing findings that entrepreneurs in these
ventures often rely on their social and friendship
ties. But the study takes this idea much further. In
addition to investigating network ties generally,
the study investigates the founding and early
success of an international network of luxury
leather goods producers and distributors in order to
show how the dynamics of ethnic ties facilitate
management and growth in international new ventures.
Such a study is unique in this area and helps us to
understand the relationship between ethnic ties and
building, developing and managing international new
venture: a true born global.
