With the increasing population and climate change in the world today , the demands placed on the remaining forests will continue to grow. However there is little academic literature available on the importance of the local communities in the conservation of forest resources. This book gives concrete examples on the realities of the dilemma between conservation and community development and it contains relevant information for natural and social science students in colleges and Universities, Policy makers and community development workers.

Author

EMMY, WASSAJJA.
Mr. Wassajja Emmy is an alumnus of the Ford Foundation. He earned his MA in Sustainable International Development from the Heller School, Brandeis University-USA (2006), an Msc. in Environment, Makerere University. Emmy currently works with the National Environment Management Authority in Uganda as a District Support officer/Environmental Inspector.
